Year of the Tiger

The first day of the Chinese New Year fell on February 14th this year.

The day started out with Josie recieving Lucky Money (Lai See) from her Gning-Gning and mom and dad.

We performed Bai Sing for Josie's Yeh-Yeh, which included lots of special things for him to eat and drink, including this lovely specimen

We had lots of family over for multiple celebrations: Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day and Febraury Birthday's!
We had Lai See for all of the kids and single adults

I've never had occasion to decorate for Chinese New Year before, so the acoutraments were a little sparse. This was actually from our wedding, but it worked. One of our home teacher's works for Black Cat FireWorks, and he brought Tommy a box of pyrotechnic fun, but we haven't set them off yet. I'm a little curious about how Josie will respond to them.
Gung Hei Fat Choi, everyone!!
